About Dr. Robin Lewis

Naturopathic Therapist

Dr. Lewis is a Vancouver-based naturopathic doctor born and raised in Northern BC. While up North, she noticed a continual struggle to get good healthcare. She always knew she wanted to help, but didn’t know how she wanted to help until she came across naturopathic medicine. In her own health journey, she noticed the ‘cookie-cutter approach’ only got her so far. Frustrated, she sought the help of a naturopathic therapies doctor. Only then, when her whole body health was assessed, did she find lasting help.

Learning from her experience and those of her patients, she approaches every person with intense curiosity. In her mind, every new patient is a new puzzle to solve. Her multi-faceted, highly knowledgeable approach allows her to find solutions for long-lasting results. When she isn’t in the clinic you can find her doing some of her favourite outdoor activities, hanging out with friends or building rookie pottery.

You can find more information on her practice specialties and the therapies she offers on the service page.

My Approach to Naturopathy

“The more I learn about the human body, the more I am humbled by it. If there was a one size fits all approach, we would know it by now. That’s why I am so passionate about individualized approaches to health.”

Education & Training

After completing her degree, she attended the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM). This is where she completed her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. The program is 4 years long and consists of approximately 3400 hours of academic learning and 1400 hours of clinical-based learning.

During this time Dr. Lewis worked under some of Vancouver’s brightest ND’s.

Dr. Lewis obtained her Bachelors of Science from the University of Calgary.

Dr. Lewis has also taken training in regenerative injection therapies. These injection therapies include:

– Prolotherapy

– PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy

– Neural therapy & Perineural injections.

– Trigger point injections

– Other: Growth hormone, hyaluronic acid, corticosteroids

Both Prolotherapy and PRP therapy promote the natural healing of connective tissues (ligaments, tendons, joint tissue and cartilage). These therapies, through different mechanisms, are amazing solutions to chronic pain.

Neural and perineural therapy are both used for nerve pain and nerve damage. They are another way to help improve people’s pain and allow the body to actually heal.

Ozone therapy is the use of ozone gas (O3) to help improve our immune system, regulate inflammation and improve the utility of oxygen in our bodies. Dr. Lewis has taken advanced courses to be able to safely and effectively use these powerful oxidative therapies.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Prolozone: This is the application of Ozone and Prolotherapy for ligament, cartilage, muscle and nerve repair.
  • Minor or Major Hemotherapy: This involves perfusing your blood with O3. When the oxidized blood is allowed to circulate it has a systemic effect. This powerful tool impacts the body on a cellular level and has deep healing effects.
  • Hydrogen peroxide IV’s: These IV’s are used similarly to ozone. It too (when dosed properly) can help the immune system fight infection and inflammatory-based conditions.
Besides her naturopathic training, she has also trained in intravenous chelation. This is a therapy for heavy metal detoxification.

This allows her to detox these metals out safely and effectively using pharmaceutical and natural agents.

This therapy involves customized formulas delivered via the veins. It is usually a blend of vitamins, amino acids, and minerals that are hand-picked for you.

They often recommended for anyone with poor absorption (digestive issues) or nutrient deficiencies. They are also used when you need to deliver higher doses of nutrients that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.

Naturopathic physicians in B.C. can take their prescribing course. This certification allows Dr. Lewis to prescribe most medications. With this she helps manage her patients prescriptions, and in the rare case, prescribe.

Note: Dr. Lewis can only prescribe within B.C.
